I came to the right place as I spent a good 2 hours trying to find out anything about him.
I only found him with the remote the same as your one.
Yes you are correct this one does have green eyes, I never noticed until you mentioned it.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4768200059516433013.post-23319888314671211312011-03-15T12:16:57.099-04:002011-03-15T12:16:57.099-04:00I did some digging but couldn't find the exact...I did some digging but couldn't find the exact date of the later R-35 remote. However, I'd guess late Fifties, early Sixties at the latest.

Unfortunately, it's not a version that was ever really on my radar, so I don't know a whole lot about it. It's less common than the thin litho remote, but also less desirable -- it's way less interesting looking. (That said, "variation collectors" might place more value on it... I'm not sure, though.)

I might be mistaken, but aren't the eyes on the one you're looking at a different color? Green instead of blue? There is a version of the toy with green eyes -- I thought it was associated with this remote, but at the moment I just can't remember.Doc Atomichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15756391204121061932noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4768200059516433013.post-88019247765715756662011-03-15T11:10:02.023-04:002011-03-15T11:10:02.023-04:00Great, Thanks for that. When you say a later version, how much later.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4768200059516433013.post-33433238067689005492011-03-15T10:39:24.334-04:002011-03-15T10:39:24.334-04:00Yes, actually, it did. I don't know a lot about it, but later versions did come with a plain red controller -- I believe it was plastic, though I might be mistaken -- and a slightly different sized box.Doc Atomichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15756391204121061932noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4768200059516433013.post-71332257422504298932011-03-15T09:29:36.028-04:002011-03-15T09:29:36.028-04:00Hello, Did this Robot ever come with just a plain ...Hello, Did this Robot ever come with just a plain red battery controller as I have seen one at an auction and I am not sure if the original has been replaced with this. Thanks.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4768200059516433013.post-17321279710736911242009-12-22T12:54:55.854-05:002009-12-22T12:54:55.854-05:00Thanks. The disadvantage, of course, is that you usually have to sell a body part to get boxed robots! I really lucked out on this guy.

If it's a toy you're looking for, definitely keep your eyes on eBay. They do come up, and with the economy being what it is, you could very well snag one on the (relatively) cheap.

Good luck!Doc Atomichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15756391204121061932noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4768200059516433013.post-76392799417320423782009-12-22T12:20:56.013-05:002009-12-22T12:20:56.013-05:00I've long wanted one of those!
